There are some rare places that whisper to the soul…
This is such a place.
The most beautiful lakes and rivers of Frances Lake remain crystal clear. The waters are
clean, unpolluted and we have been drinking the water from the lake and our year-round flowing creek which we have enjoyed for over 30 years. The skies are clear and blue;
the mountains are set back from the lake and are magnificent indeed. The bush is almost totally without human habitation and is seemingly endless. The nearest neighbour is 20
miles (32 Kilometres) away.
The flora and fauna is unparalleled, making the area truly a gem in a very forgotten corner of
the Yukon, indeed, never experiencing any significant interruption from man.

Wildlife abounds. Moose, bear (black and grizzly), wolf and wolverine are often seen. The fishing; lake trout, grayling, northern pike, dolly varden, whitefish etc., in the clear waters of lakes and rivers is excellent and most challenging.
The opportunities for hiking, photography, boating and fishing along with winter cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, winter fishing through the ice and even open water area
fishing, are the finest to be found.
This geographic wilderness location truly has everything a person could wish to experience,
along with the comfort of a hand crafted scribed log home.

The Yukon Territory, in northern Canada, is one of the last areas left in the world where one
can experience pure wilderness. The location of this remote home, on the shores of beautiful Frances Lake, is one of the jewels in the Yukon crown. This property consists of
4 ha, (approximately 10 acres), and approximately 1355 feet, or 413 metres of lakeshore, and is positioned almost halfway up the eastern arm of the lake nestled below the
inspiring mountains of the Hunt range.
The hand crafted log home, along with greenhouse, shop, support buildings, gardens etc., rests
on titled wilderness land, 60 feet or 18 metres above and overlooking the crystal clear waters of a very beautiful mountain lake, which nestles at the base of a subtle but
spectacular range of mountains.

The wilderness location can only be reached by:
Fixed wing aircraft: as the location is 90 air miles or 145 kilometres from the nearest town or registered air service flying company or;
Vehicle: driving a gravel road 100 miles, or 160 kilometres from the nearest town to Frances Lake, and then 30 miles or 48 kilometres by water. This water trip
by boat is truly an ongoing most picturesque, enjoyable trip over the Frances lake system.
This wilderness reaches out for vast distances in all directions and truly is not easily discovered. Nor is the opportunity present today to own such a part of wilderness in the highly populated world that we live in.
