A cache is a traditional structure used throughout the North for the safe storage of food, furs and other things that might attract animals. Some are still used out in the bush, but lots of new ones are appearing because of their interseting connection with the past.

    There is no firm design, but they need to be tall enough to be out of reach of grizzlies, and a couple of feet of each support leg is wrapped with tin or other metal so that squirrels can't climb them.
